The father of advertising, David Ogilvy, scrounged around as an apprentice chef and a door-to-door salesman before he entered advertising. The rest, as they say, is history. So don’t worry about skills, they can be learnt. Instead, develop and articulate your imagination which is your unique way of looking at the world. Today, the fashion industry is more fragmented and competitive than ever, paraelly it is also ripe for bold and imaginative ideas that will leave a mark and recognition in the industry. To achieve this, all you need is a confident mind and training which will help you get there too”. – Message from our President
Rtn. Chandraakant , was a turehearted visionary in Fashion and Lifestyle Education who began the Journey of JD Institute of Fashion Technology in Mumbai in 1988 keeping the seed of imagination in mind. His vision, leadership, and encouragement has empowered over 20,000 students to succeed in their chosen fields in Design. The drive of passion and stewardship is to create a change in the ideas, society and industry that live inside us all.

Mr. R C Dalal, was not just an iconic pioneer in Fashion and Arts education work, but also an iconic pioneer who took the journey of the institute to a whole new level. His compass of knowledge and experience helped JD Institute of Fashion Technology to be recognised as one of the top Institute in Fashion Technology.
He focused and moved towards promoting the art, craft and culture of India on an international level. Under his guidance, the Institute organized various exhibitions, fashion shows, and other networking events in order to promote their talent and designs to the Industry world.
R.C Dalal’s dream of JD being recognized at Global level, came to be a reality. One of the major milestones of JD Institute was the participation at the Bollywood Festival Norway as the Fashion Partner. Aside from academics, he was committed to many CSR activities. He was awarded “The Hero to Animals” was an award that was provided to him by Poorva Joshipura, Vice President of International Affairs, PETA, UK for his immense contribution to animal-friendly fashion.
The passion for Fashion and goal to take the country to new heights drove him to consort for India Fashion Week, London along with Mr. Manny Singh in the year 2015. “RC DALAL MEMORIAL AWARD” was instituted to confer the top designer talent at the India Fashion Week, November, 2017 as an honour for all his efforts, contribution, association and dedication for supporting India Fashion week and taking it to new heights.
Winner of Skill Learning for Fashion Design at Indian Education Awards
Indian Education Awards 2018 JD Institute of Fashion Technology, India was in the limelight when it was declared Best Skill Learning for Fashion Design in India at the Indian Education Awards 2018. The awards held at Delhi on the 14th and 15th February 2018 are given to the Education sector in India with Virtual environments and technological advancement.
JD WINS LEADERS IN EDUCATION – AT UK ASIAN BUSINESS AWARDS 2018
JD Institute of Fashion Technology won the ‘Leaders in Education Award’ for 2018. The award was presented by Lord Swaraj Paul, Chairman of Caparo Group Ltd, London at the UK Asian Business Awards 2018. Held in the Congress Hall, London.

JD receives ‘The Global League Institute’ by Great Place to Study, London
JD Institute of Fashion Technology India, one of the premiere Institute of Art and Design, is awarded the Global League Institute by GPTS (Great place to study). The Award was presented at the 5th Global league Institute Certification ceremony at the prestigious House of Commons, London on June 17th 2019.
JD Receives Global Excellence In Design Education Award
JD Institute of Fashion Technology has conferred the Global Excellence in Design Education award at The Times Education Excellence 2019 organized by The Times Group on 17th October 2019 at Sheraton Grand. The award was presented by the famous actress Swara Bhaskar to Mr. Nealesh Dalal, Managing Trustee, JD Education Trust in recognition for his contribution in the field of design.
Honorary membership awarded to JD by Indian Green Building Council
Honorary membership was awarded to JD Institute of Fashion Technology by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Formed in 2001, IGBC’s vision is “To enable a sustainable built environment for all and facilitate India to be one of the global leaders in the sustainable built environment by 2025”.
