Denim Recoded – JD Design Awards 2024

“Denim Recoded,” which is an entirely new generation street-wear collection designed by the MSC in Fashion Design students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore, namely Niharika A. S. and Chandana C. This collection is a new vision of streetwear that was developed through the elements of basic, separately usable components and exclusive types of finishes in terms of the nightscape of a cybercity. Also targeting youth, particularly the group of young fashion lovers aged 20 to 28, “Denim Recoded” means a new coding that speaks about changes, new trends, and new ways to individualize oneself with stylish and versatile denim wear.

The essence of “Denim Recoded” is therefore founded on Cyber City’s late-night life. Think of green lasers and screens showing holograms of advertisements, making the dark city a city of dreams. This constant and progressive environment becomes the perfect setting for a line that epitomizes both functionality and transformation in today’s urban clothing.

The main idea of the design lies in the idea of incorporating convertible features and different types of references to the lights and digital interface of CyberCity. At the same time, every piece in the collection can be combined with other styles and serve various purposes, which is precisely why fashion lovers will appreciate it. The most important aspect to say is that all showcased items are monochrome in color, mostly blue, which unites the collection and gives it a futuristic and practical touch, which is important for today’s contemporary city’s life.

It is noteworthy that “Denim Recoded” does not deviate from the concept of the futuristic world, of technology infused with the fashion world that adorns the future world. The entire city is filled with holographic billboards and neon signs; everything is constantly changing and looks like the embodiment of the future. Its oversized and open sections and the specificity of the fabrics used correspond with this setting; the clothes have to be malleable, just like the buildings and signs of the technological metropolis.

Thus, the fabrics and colors that are chosen to create these images are very vital in the setup of this vision. What is more, traditional denim is used here with textured finishes that give the clothing items a metallic sheen that references the neon nightscape of CyberCity. The metal zippers and snap buttons are other features that enhance the futuristic mood of the clothing. The collection has many blue shades, and besides, it gives the set a stylish look, making all items blend in well.
