The stories presented in this collection focus on cultural memories and personal transformation through the revision of one’s biography.

In my opinion, this work could be analyzed as the narrative of Copula, but it can also be considered the narrative of Memoria, an organism that was severely wounded and, after coming to consciousness, struggled to grow again. Based on the concept of a new beginning and rebirth, meaning people’s escape from previous selves and their possibility to become a new person, every sculpture represents the process of transformation people go through in order to enter new stages of their lives. Regarding its hierarchical aspect, the concept is best represented by the design elements or the changes in the collars of the human figures. These collars, which are worn in a manner that looks unconventional, symbolically represent the fact that memories can be selectively edited or erased in a memory-affected society. It is through symbols that the physical change is captured, as the adoptance of change symbolizes shifted identities.

These artifacts focus on the aspects of strength in humanity and creativity that result from the preservation of memories for a better future. It celebrates the spirit of individual and social transformation in the face of hardships and shows that man is not a sum total of the past atrocities committed against them, but he is capable of reinventing his persona with the help of a powerful tool: memory.

JDDA 2024

“Memoria”depicts a future where people are capable of changing the memory with the help of technology. Basically, it paints a picture of a journey in which individuals reinvent themselves through reconstructing their memories, exploring the future consequences technically in relation to the past and the present. It may be noted that many elements in the products of the collection and the choice of materials embody the idea of life and the change of generations, the combination of past and future.

The specific fabrics of cotton twill and those of the pleated types help to improve on the comfort aspect while also idealizing the idea of practicality in fashionable designs. In terms of color, grey, white, beige, and contrasting red provide object and meaning to the movie that reflects the multicolored and multilayered nature of memory and transformation.
