Mansi K. Jain is a BSc student in Interior Design & Decoration at JD School of Design, Bangalore. Her participation in the JD Design Awards 2024 was with the project titled “The Click Collection.” It is a never-before marriage of photography and videography that makes The Click Collection a dynamic space redefining the industry. It folds design into modular pods to achieve efficiency and maximum flexibility in hosting a wide variety of creative activities. From the beginner to the expert professional, it offers an unrivalled platform through which to discover, collaborate, and flourish.
The Click Collection is an all-dynamic space dedicated to photography and videography for both professionals and enthusiasts. Studios, virtual and augmented reality experiences, training facilities, and interactive exhibits bring everything under one roof, allowing practical resources to meet immersive experiences. This unique approach has moulded the project as a single place where professionals and hobbyists in this industry could experience, learn, and create.
All of this is inspired by a design concept where the yearning for an immersive and interactive environment was a guiding force. So it starts with the camera products on display, then goes into AI and interactive technology, on to VR/AR rooms, and eventually into totally tricked-out studio setups. What it does is not merely display products, but it gives a practical application and learning for enhanced customer engagement in photography and videography.
One can look further than its futuristic layout and holistic approach to realize the commitment of this project toward versatility and innovation. There is space for different interests and proficiency levels of all types of customers to blend, thereby increasing the element of accessibility that creates collaboration. Advanced lighting systems, such as magnetic track illumination, are introduced in studios and selling areas to provide an ideal environment for the transactional and hands-on portions of the experience.
The material board, of industrial elegance with flora, timber, metal, and masonry captures this. This raw and processed mix of materials naturally creates textural and surface interest that captures the mood set in the venue. Their mood board portrays a modern and sleek design with sinuous lines and very minimal design features—just what you would expect from the Canon brand’s ethics. Careful selection and integration of materials—innovation, versatility—are reflected and a welcoming and engaging environment is created for the patrons.
