Tisha N Jain, an intelligent and beautiful student with a BSc in Interior Design at the JD School of Design, Bangalore, has been awarded the JD Design Award for Best Thesis of the Year. Her project, more notably the Cubbon Park State Central Library, which has even won her an award, speaks volumes about her architectural designing proficiency and creativity. This library consists of more than 5000 square feet of spacious area, where it is clear that she is a master of weaving tradition and innovation and combining history and futurism.
The Cubbon Park State Central Library is valuable for far more than as a storehouse of books; it is also historical for the culture of Karnataka and a symbol of future developments in librarian architecture. The basis of this project are ideas connected with the plans of the temples that were designed as stars and the distinctive features of the Hoysala Empire in Karnataka.
The space is used as a library where one can think about many things and find the necessary books, meetings, and ideas within its efficient space-use framework. Tisha also does a good job of managing space, as I’ve seen her use foldable furniture to keep the library functional without clogging up the available space. Tisha has designed a library with a cultural reference to Karnataka state but, at the same time, a concrete, technologically advanced building that reflects the present and taps into the future.
The combination of history and future goals is the delicate balance that Tisha N. Jain depicted in her Cubbon Park State Central Library project. And so, it would be possible to point out that, as a whole, the library concept is constructed as the construction of a connection between the past and the future, making it possible to speak about the unshakable spirit of Karnataka. Most carved designs on the glass are carnation-shaped and refer to the Hoysala Empire temple plans. The architectural motif of the respective states also inspires the initial division of zones in the library.
The rotate-based bookcase additions are relatively cardinal, including technology for constructing similar constructions. The Ferris wheel designs this kind of bookshelves and can rotate around a central position with ten shelves to form a set of structures. TishaN.N Jain has chosen the Cubbon Park State Central Library due to its interest in library design as inspiration for the JD Design Award for Best Thesis of the Year. By incorporating present-day architecture and technology into the core of what traditional architectural features mean, she has borrowed the meanings of the shape and design of this library from Karnataka, which is how it was in history and is still today.
