Disha Agarwal’s “More is More, Less is Bore”
B.Sc. in Fashion and Apparel Design 2022
Designer Disha Agarwal’s graduation collection, More is More, Less is Bore, is a brazen, unrepentant ode to maximalism. Inspired by the legendary aesthetic of Iris Apfel and the campy extravagance of early 2000s fashion, Disha combines two universes of daring self-expression into one blindingly brilliant statement.

This is not for the faint of heart. It’s for fashionistas who think that nostalgia and innovation can go hand in hand. From metallic cargos and velour jumpsuits to mini skirts, the silhouettes are straight out of Y2K—reimagined with a modern twist. Disha’s colour palette is electric, packed with neon colours, jewel tones, and dazzling metallics. Each piece is a chromatic explosion, layered and accessorised to perfection.
It is more than a tribute to a boisterous time thanks to its textural depth. Power mesh, denim, sequin mesh, lycra, and tulle are beautifully layered, making for a sensory experience that’s as much seen as felt. Each detail honours the skillfulness Iris Apfel advocated, while remaining mindful of eco-friendly practice.

Colour scheme is drawn directly from the sea and ocean colours—azure blues, seafoam green, coral pink, and sandy neutrals—reflecting the changing hues beneath the surface. Raksha marries airy linen, sumptuous silks, and silky polyester blends to make each garment as comfortable as it is elegant. Even the swimwear is designed with consideration, weighing aesthetics against real-world needs and concerns of women who want both beauty and practicality.
Azure Escape is not a book—it is an experience. It honours the force in delicacy, the beauty in simplicity, and the enchantment in quiet. An experience—liquid, womanly, indelible.
