On 19th September 2024, JD School of Design, Goa organized a charity event at Novi Survat in Goa, funded through contributions raised by JD students from their own art and design creations. The event took place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and was part of the school’s ongoing charitable initiatives.

Novi Survat focuses on the enhancement of the quality of life of families having children with chronic diseases/disabilities through various therapeutic modalities along with neuromotor rehabilitation and providing relief from pain and other symptoms, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of care. This is done through a multi-disciplinary team of professionals providing centre-based and home care while also networking with Government and non-government organizations and institutions. 

As part of a charitable initiative, students from JD School of Design organized and facilitated various creative activities for these children, including fingerprint drawing, clay modelling, passing the parcel, and target shooting. These activities were designed to engage and uplift the children while fostering a sense of community and compassion. The children not only had the opportunity to explore different forms of art, but they also enjoyed a final performance by the students, who concluded the event with a lively dance.

This event not only enriched the children’s experience but also imparted valuable lessons to the students, instilling in them a deeper understanding of social responsibility and the impact of giving back to the community.

In addition to organizing the event, JD School of Design also made a generous contribution by donating essential medical equipment to Novi Survat, which will support the treatment and care of these children.
