JD SCHOOL OF DESIGN ( B-Block ) by Jaicy Marian Valliara

MSc in Interior Design

Design school is more often than not always chaotic. People clashing over table space with zero room to think. Jaicy Marian Valliara renovated the ground floor of the JD School of Design into something dreamy. B Block isn’t just four walls and some tables in this idea. It’s the chill friend you wish you’d met in your first week of college.

Jaicy gets that sometimes the best ideas show up right after you zone out. Her revamp reels in that sweet spot between hustle and sitting in contemplation. Minimalist, but not cold. Comfy, but also fancy. She’s banking on the idea that killer design doesn’t happen if you grind 24/7. It’s those random pauses, the coffee-break brainwaves that undertake responsibility.

It’s open when you walk in. There are spots where squads can brainstorm and gossip, and nooks for the lone wolves. It all flows, shifting as people’s moods and projects do.

And there’s the table, designed by Jaicy herself—it’s like if meditation, a Scandinavian furniture catalogue, and good vibes had a baby. It just screams “take a step back and reassess” especially when you’ve got seventeen deadlines on your plate.

The whole place is less “institutional stress zone” and more “creative sanctuary.” Jaicy cracked the code on making design school chaotic—and maybe even inspire people between coffee breaks.
