August at JD School of Design was a month filled with creativity, exploration, and purposeful engagement. From immersive workshops that honed technical and artistic skills to campaigns that sparked conversations on sustainability, the month reflected the school’s vision of nurturing well-rounded designers who think critically, create passionately, and act responsibly.
B.Des 2025 Immersive Workshops

For the B.Des 2025 batch, August was about diving into hands-on learning. Students participated in two workshops that balanced creativity with environmental consciousness.
The first, 3D Perspective & Illustration Out of Waste Textile, introduced them to depth, proportion, and spatial arrangement through perspective drawing. At the same time, they explored sustainable creativity by repurposing waste textiles into striking illustrations, reinforcing the idea that design can emerge from both imagination and responsibility.
The second session combined Pebble Art, Nail Art, Clay Art, and Art Out of Waste. From turning pebbles into storytelling canvases to shaping clay into sculptural forms, every activity encouraged experimentation. The art out of waste exercise, in particular, challenged students to find beauty in the discarded, demonstrating how upcycling fuels innovation.
Emotional Intelligence 101 Masterclass

Design is not just about skill; it’s also about empathy and awareness. Students from BSc IDD 2025 and BSc FAD 2025 attended “Emotional Intelligence 101”, a masterclass by Upskill Minds. The session helped students connect with their emotions and those of others through activities such as self-awareness exercises, empathy mapping, and group reflections. It highlighted how emotional intelligence can strengthen personal growth, academic performance, and professional success—skills as vital as design tools themselves.
D5 Render Workshop: Turning Ideas into Immersive Visuals

Technology took centre stage in the D5 Render Workshop, held on August 7th at the JD School of Design campus. Interior Design students from MSc ID, BSc IDD, ADID, and DID streams explored the possibilities of real-time rendering. The workshop guided them through creating photorealistic visuals, experimenting with lighting, materials, and environments, and even producing walkthrough animations. By the end, students gained not only technical proficiency in D5 Render but also confidence in presenting their design stories with impact.
MSc IDD 2025 Orientation Display – Chronicles in Layers

The MSc Interior Design 2025 batch made a striking beginning with their orientation display titled Chronicles in Layers. This showcase transformed two-dimensional portraits into layered three-dimensional artworks, highlighting creative approaches to depth, perspective, and storytelling. The works combined craftsmanship with conceptual thinking, offering a glimpse into the batch’s potential and setting an inspiring tone for their journey ahead.
August 2025 at JD School of Design showcased how creativity, technology, empathy, and sustainability intersect to shape designers of tomorrow.
