Sanjeevini I Hiremath: Whispers of Legacy – A Grand Library Retreat

MSc in Interior Design

Sanjeevini Hiremath’s JDDA 2025 project is called Whispers of Legacy, and it’s got a big, sentimental punch—she made it for her grandparents, so touching. The whole theme is “Pause – Prioritize a Unique Sense of Ease,” but in practice, it’s way more than just a fancy reading room. Think sanctuary vibes, the kind of place where old stories hang around like family secrets during a power cut, and time chills out for a bit.

You walk in, and it’s basically an old-school heaven crashed into a glossy minimalist magazine spread. She went for this Indian classical look, but nothing over-the-top—just some warm wood here, a bit of bronze or marble there, softening it all up with plush chairs. You’ve got Persian rugs from your grandma’s wish list, tufted upholstery to sink into, and cozy lighting that makes you want to take a nap or scribble in a diary. It feels old-world and modern at the same time.

She didn’t forget her target audience. Every detail is for the elderly, from easy-to-navigate layouts to soft, touchable finishes. The furniture isn’t just pretty—it moves and adapts, so if you need to switch things up for comfort, you can, without struggling to find backup.

Sanjeevini’s staging a quiet rebellion against the rush of daily life. She’s making a spot to breathe, reconnect with old books, or just hang out with your own thoughts and family history being exchanged. These whispers of legacy aren’t trying to shout; it gently honors those before us by slowing things down and making comfort feel like an heirloom. Wish every home had a spot like that.
